What is the match score?
A number from 0 to 100 on every result showing how much of what you asked for Spotter found: your words, where they appear, matches by meaning, place and date. You can open any result to see the breakdown.
Does Spotter upload my files?
No. Everything Spotter reads and stores stays on your Mac, encrypted. Searching and cleaning work offline. Cloud AI is off unless you turn it on, and even then only the passages a question needs are sent, after Spotter shows you what they are.
Can it replace my Mac cleaner?
Spotter Clean covers forgotten downloads, old installers, duplicates and look-alike photos, unused apps with their leftovers, big old media, iCloud offloading and a space map. It doesn't do antivirus or "speed-up" tricks; it's about getting real space back, honestly.
Does it replace Finder?
You can use it as your everyday file manager, with tabs, dual pane, every view and folder sizes. The Desktop, Open and Save dialogs stay with Finder, and "Show in Finder" is always one click away.
Do I need Apple Intelligence?
No. Search, text recognition, Clean and file management all work without it. Summaries and answers need Apple Intelligence turned on, or a cloud AI you choose.
Will it change or delete my files?
Only when you ask. Every change is shown as a plan first, nothing is ever overwritten, deleting always means the Trash, and every change can be undone.
